In collaboration with Taller de Arquitectura sbh, we have been appointed to work up proposals for guest accommodation, an extensive landscape scheme and rainwater collection for a large dwelling in Tlecuilco, Estado de México. The guest accommodation is intended to separate from the principal dwelling. The landscape scheme’s primary function is to guide the rain water that will be collected from the roofs of the main house and the new guest accommodation to a storage tank, making this journey a prominent feature of the gardens. Malinalco has a very limited centralised water system thus making this form of self sufficiency critical to the house’s on-going use.
