Dartmoor Estate, Devon

A pattern book house built at the turn of the 20th century located on the site of an earlier farmstead, the house has been significantly altered but neglected over the past two decades. The proposals incorporated a substantial staircase and atrium/light well to open up the heart of the historic part of the house, creating a generous entrance hall and the addition of a loft bedroom and bathroom.  A a new chimney carved from local Blackenstone granite forms the central focus in the large, former pool room.

A landscape master plan for the estate including a natural swimming pool in the walled garden and an all weather tennis court have been approved by Dartmoor National Park planning authority and  are currently under construction.
