Gratnar Farm, Devon

The proposals create a courtyard of two new agricultural buildings associated with a nearby farm whose flock grazes the moorland edge pastures and open moorland of Dartmoor. The buildings were designed to provide shelter, accommodation and lambing space as well implement storage necessary for the running of the farm business. The buildings are strategically sited in a sheltered position close to an existing field entrance.⁠

An extensive landscape scheme, designed in collaboration with Eva Vyhnackova, of dry-stone Dartmoor walling and native tree planting will help over time to gently nestle the barns into their landscape setting.
